FARM INSURANCE
Protecting your farm
today and for tomorrow.
From the house and barns to the machinery and the crop in the field, we shop our carriers to find farm coverage that fits your operation, and we explain your options in plain English.
WHAT IT TYPICALLY COVERS
The basics, explained.
Farm Buildings
Your farmhouse, barns, sheds, and other structures on the property.
Machinery &
Equipment
Tractors, combines, implements, and tools, often listed individually.
Livestock &
Stored Grain
Coverage for animals and stored crops for certain causes of loss.
Farm Liability
Helps protect you if someone is injured on your farm or you damage their property.
Crop Insurance
A separate policy that helps protect against yield and revenue losses.
Coverage descriptions are general. Actual coverage depends on your policy and carrier.
WHAT FARMERS OFTEN MISS
Worth asking
about before you

A homeowners policy isn’t a farm policy.
A standard homeowners policy often limits or excludes farm buildings, equipment, and farming activity. Tell us what you actually do on the property.

Equipment values.
Machinery is expensive and values change quickly. Ask how your equipment is listed and whether it would be paid at replacement cost or depreciated value.

Crop insurance is its own policy.
It isn’t part of your farm package, and it follows a federal program’s rules and deadlines. Call us early so you don’t miss a sales closing date.

Hired help and visitors.
Employees, seasonal workers, custom operators, and guests can each raise different liability and workers’ compensation questions.

Flood and river risk.
Standard farm policies typically don’t cover flood. If you farm near the river or in low ground, ask about flood coverage.
WHO IT'S FOR

Do I need a farm policy or a homeowners policy?

If you earn income from farming or keep equipment, livestock, or farm buildings, you’ll likely want a farm policy. We’ll help you sort out which fits.

Is crop insurance part of my farm policy?

No. It’s a separate policy with its own deadlines and rules. We’ll walk you through your options and the dates that apply.

What should I do after storm or hail damage?

If it’s safe, prevent further damage and take photos. Then call us right away. Crop and property claims can be time-sensitive.
